On the sacred ground of Dakshineswar - where the Master himself often walked - a new temple prepares to open its doors.
Some places are made holy by what is built upon them. This ground was made holy long before.
The new Ramakrishna Mandir rises in the vicinity of Sri Ramakrishna's Leelakhetra and the Dakshineswar Kali Mandir - the very landscape across which the Master moved in his days of divine play. These are the fields and pathways that knew his footsteps, his songs, and his God-intoxicated wanderings.
To raise a temple here is not to consecrate new earth, but to acknowledge a sanctity that has rested here for more than a century. With each day that passes, we draw nearer to the moment its doors open - a moment recorded here for those who come after us.
"The winds of grace are always blowing; it is for us to raise our sails."
— Sri RamakrishnaFollow the journey as it unfolds — from the sacred ground, through the work of devoted hands, to the day the doors open. Photographs and films, gathered as one story.
You are warmly invited. Walk with us toward the inauguration of the Ramakrishna Mandir, on ground the Master held dear.
